Top Deck is a modern house on a quiet cul de sac above the main village. It is a 5 minute walk to the beach, but it's garden and deck are quite a tempting alternative to the beach. The view from the house and deck somehow manages to exclude any of the neighbouring properties or even the village roof tops, being framed by trees and it's own tall hedge. The barbeque is stone built and has a small bed of growing herbs nearby.

The interior is also a pleasing, well thought out place. Llight comes in from large windows and the rooms are spacious and well planned. The furniture is comfortable and the details are nice - the wetroom is lined with sandstone - I'm hoping to move in.

Layout

There is parking for two cars close to the front door.

The front door opens onto a long, wide hallway with side lighting windows through to the dining area and a large mirror. The flooring throughout is natural coconut fibre with rugs.

The kitchen is directly ahead, with a large window and a great view onto the deck and the land and sea beyond. The flooring is slate coloured vinyl and the walls are part slate tiled.

This is a well equipped kitchen and I expect some serious cooking could be done here. There is a stainless steel double oven and a large fitted ceramic hob with invisible high tech controls and a powerful extractor over. Occupying one wall, there is a large Americanstyle larder fridge with freezer. There is also a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave etc. all set in an attractive range of fitted units with plenty of preparation space. Drawers and cupboards are well stocked with utensils, pans, serving dishes etc. The kitchen is large enough to allow quite a few people other than the Chef, to socialise, but there's an opening (let's not say hatch as it is not that sort of house) through to the dining area so they could all stay at the table and keep in touch from there.

The sittingroom is large and L shaped, with dining area (seating eight) at one end and the relaxing area at the other. French doors open to the deck and windows extending the full length of the room bring the deck, garden and lovely view to the eye. There are two four- seater sofas and large wall mounted flat screen tv, with freeview. Also DVD, CD player and radio.

The deck and garden are like outside further living rooms, so I'll describe them here. The deck has an outdoor dining table and chairs with parasol. The deck posts are cunningly designed to act as drinks rests. The lawn below the deck is enclosed and level, like an outdoor room. Wide stone steps lead to a stone patio and the built in BBQ.

The wet room is next to the front door and has a floor to ceiling thick glass wall dividing the shower area from the hand basins and WC. The Natural stone surfaces are lovely sand tones, on the walls and floor. There is a powerful shower.

The second bathroom is at the other end of the hall, near the bedroms. More natural materials here - the walls have grey slate tiles and the two hand basins have hardwood tables. There is a large corner bath with another power shower over it. There is also a wc.

There are three bedrooms all have large windows, all have good quality twin divan beds, which can be zipped to form two kingsized beds and one 5ft bed. The style is plain and under stated, whites and neutral seaside tones.

Location and Beach Access

Top Deck is the second to last house on a quiet cul de sac, the seaward end of Chute Lane. From the house as the seagull flies is about 3 stonestrows to the beach, to walk is slightly less direct, but only takes about 5 minutes. The pub is about 3 minutes away and the more healthy option, the cliff path is about 7 minutes walk away. .
