Terra Nova has plenty of space for 8, but smaller groups are very welcome and we are happy to reduce the rate.The cottage has a sunny south facing aspect with views over fields & woodland to Heligan gardens and the sea at Mevagissey.
The cottage was once a farmhouse and dates back a long way. It was named by a sea captain who went to the New World. Kestle must have been peaceful by comparison.
After a graceful fall into ivy-filled decline, the local family who had lived here for several generations (and have now outgrown it) have this year carefully refurbished it throughout. It has central heating, modern kitchen and comfortable facilities, but retains a lot of its older character. It must have been a lovely place to grow up. Fine, old fashioned countryside all around.
There's a large lawned garden and a paved area near the house with garden furniture and BBQ etc. A conservatory opens onto the garden, and links the patio with the living room.
Parking for 3 cars in gravelled courtyard in front of the house. (Also free parking in Gorran Haven Carpark).
There are four good sized bedrooms, one en suite, a family bathroom and wetroom with shower, 3 WCs.; Sittingroom, diningroom and kitchen with breakfast table. Dishwasher, Tumble dryer, central heating.
Cot & highchair. Linen and towels provided, electricity included.

A level path leads across a lawn to the front door and a paved area in front of the house with outdoor furniture.Inside:
South facing conservatory room with furniture for sitting in the sun. The two sets of glazed doors can be opened to make garden to sittingroom one big space. Lovely in Summer.
Sittingroom: with tiled floor and rugs, local stone fireplace with log burner, two sofas, armchairs, TV, DVD etc.
Diningroom: with large dining table chairs, tiled floor. This room has a separate outside entrance, which is useful for those returning sandy from the beach because beyond this room there is a shower room.
Wet room with shower & wc.
Kitchen: which has an outside door to the garden. Fitted units with ceramic hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher. All necessary equipment for cooking and dining. Breakfast table and chairs at one end in bright south facing bay with deep silled window.
Utility room with washing machine & tumble dryer.
Upstairs:
Flight of wooden stairs from sittingroom to large landing with comfy seating area for reading or children's play.Family bathroom, with bath (shower over), basin & wc.
Bedroom one with double bed, chest of drawers bedside tables and lamps. Window overlooking front garden.

Location:
Kestle is a quiet hamlet a mile inland from Mevagissey, just off the Gorran road. It is a short drive to beaches at Gorran Haven (4 miles) or shops and restaurants in Mevagissey (by small back lane) and just a hop (well, half a mile) to Heligan Gardens (café, lunches, amazing tree ferns, Lobbs farm shop etc.).
The nearest pub is at St Ewe about 1.5 miles away and it is a pleasant walk along back lanes to get there. Pub (Crown Inn) has family garden and serves restaurant meals.
