Gorran Haven is a small village half way down the south coast of Cornwall, set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with good beaches and fine walks.
This part of Cornwall has gentle rolling countryside, dramatic cliff and coastal scenery and unspoiled beaches. Well away from main roads and with the nearest town 12 miles distant, it is nicely off the beaten track. Locally, there are good small shops, pubs and restaurants and the people living here are friendly.
It is a lovely place to live and work and a good place for a holiday at any time of the year.
In Summer the safe sandy village beach is ideal for families
with children of any age, plenty of paddling, rock pools,
swimming and even jumping off the quay at high tide to be
enjoyed, along with a convenient small beach café
serving good quality food and ice creams. For those wanting
a quieter time, there are other beaches nearby that can
be reached by cliff top and inland circular walks.
The
properties are different,
but all are within easy reach of beaches.
A few are tucked
inland near Gorran - this area has fine old fashioned countryside
with small traditional farms and a few tiny hamlets. The
landscape is made up of small fields, woodland and good
Cornish hedgerows with many mature trees. On this little
peninsular you are never more than a couple of miles from
the sea.
A couple of the
houses are in Mevagissey - a busy little fishing village
with shops restaurants, fishing trips and a ferry to Fowey.
All
the houses are family friendly. A few are happy to take
a dog.
